Taking a trip doesn’t mean having to take a break from your favorite fitness routine. Exercising is a great way to boost your mood, increase energy levels, and improve circulation, and is especially beneficial after a long flight or lengthy road trip. Here’s a list of our favorite local routes and upcoming races to help you break a sweat while visiting the Bay.


EMBARCADERO YMCA

Located on the scenic San Francisco waterfront, the Embarcadero YMCA is just steps from our front door. This state-of-the-art facility features a 3-floor gymnasium, complete with basketball courts, a 25-meter lap pool, and group exercise studios for yoga, pilates, spin, and more.

BAY TO BREAKERS

Held the third Sunday of each May, this legendary race begins at the northeast end of downtown and heads west through the city towards the finish line at the Great Highway.

 

GIANTS RACE

Featuring a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon, the Giant Race is touted as the flattest and fastest racecourse in San Francisco, giving runners a break from the hilly Bay Area terrain.

 

THE SAN FRANCISCO MARATHON

This USATF certified racecourse takes runners past iconic landmarks and through historic neighborhoods as it loops around the city and back toward the finish line.
